Goldschmidt & Pirzer c. 1886

This Goldschmidt & Pirzer is part of the collection of Fahrradmuseum Retz in Austria. It is a very original early G&P, with the serial number 1253 engraved in various places. Looking at the G&P history and it's a good guess the bike dates from 1886.
What do we see: a quality machine with the brake-lock of Goldschmidt, and a very special profiled front fork. Never seen this profile before. Every part on this bike looks original, there's even some original lining to see on the front fork.
The bearings are of the well-known Bown Aeolus type. It's a shame we have no pictures of the rear hub, but these pictures (donated by Max) give a good impression of this interesting bike.
